Mrs. Debra Anderson has been teaching at Perry High since 1997.  She is currently the Social Studies Department Chair as well as Gifted Lead Teacher. A Houston County native, Mrs. Anderson graduated from Northside High School in 1979. She then obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (as well as a minor in Political Science and History) from the University of Georgia in 1983.   After working for several newspapers, she decided to switch careers and enter the field of education. She taught various History and English classes at Middle Georgia Christian School from 1991 to 1996.  Mrs. Anderson earned her secondary teacher certification at Mercer University in Macon. She also holds a Master's Degree in Secondary History Education from Piedmont College. Additionally, Mrs. Anderson has served as a Reader for the AP US History national exam for many years.

Mrs. Anderson is married to Kelly Anderson, a 1978 Warner Robins High graduate. They have two adult children, who are both graduates of Houston County High.
