Biography

Dr. Monica B. Kearse is a native of South Carolina. She received her bachelor’s degree in Administrative Systems/Business Education with secondary education certification from Albany State University in Albany, Georgia. She served 15 years of her educational experience with Sumter County Schools.  She taught Business Education at Sumter County High School where she was the Lead FBLA Adviser and department chair.  She served as the 2000-2001Teacher of the Year.  She served the last five years of her tenure with Sumter County Schools as the CTAE (Career, Technical and Agricultural Education) Director and on numerous Administrative and Leadership teams throughout the district.   

Dr. Kearse joined Houston County Schools in 2012 and taught Introduction to Digital Technology, Digital Design, Web Design, Financial Literacy, served as the Work-Based Learning Coordinator, and sponsored the FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) organization at Veterans High School.  Dr. Kearse became a Perry Panther serving as an Assistant Principal and CTAE Supervisor at Perry High School in 2018.  Dr. Kearse holds a master's degree in Business Education from Georgia Southwestern State University, a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University, and a doctorate of Instructional Leadership from Argosy University.Atlanta.  She and her husband, Lawrence have two girls, Lauryn and Leah.
