Mrs. Sendek began learning Spanish in 1987 in high school. She continued her education in the travel industry studying to become a travel agent. In 1991, she attended Gordon College and received her Associates of Arts Degree in Spanish and Theatre. After receiving the Paul Douglass Teacher’s Scholarship, she attended The University of Montevallo in Alabama, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Spanish and a minor in History and Theatre. She later earned her Masters Degree in Education. She started her teaching career in Dooly County at Dooly County High School teaching Spanish from 1997-1999. She married her husband, Joe, in 1998. In 1999, she began teaching Spanish at Perry High School. She and Joe have a son, Jacob. The Sendek family loves to travel the world. So far, they have been to the Bahamas, the Grand Cayman Islands, Jamaica, México, Canada, Spain, France, Italy, and Cuba.
