Dr. Courtney Herbert has dedicated more than 25 years to the Houston County School District, serving students and families with excellence both in and out of the classroom. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences in 1997 and her Master of Arts in History in 1999 from Valdosta State University. In 2018, she completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from Mercer University and also holds certification in Educational Leadership.

A proud Panther, Dr. Herbert has been an active leader at Perry High School throughout her career, coaching cheerleading, softball, and soccer while serving on numerous academic and leadership teams. She is a passionate advocate for Holocaust education and character development and has served as the Social Studies Department Head and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Coach.

In July 2026, Dr. Herbert was appointed Assistant Principal of Discipline, where she continues her commitment to fostering a positive school culture and supporting student success. Her dedication to education, leadership, and Panther PRIDE is evident in all she does.
