Dr. Knapek graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemistry followed by a Ph.D. in Biochemistry.  After completing postdoctoral work at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, she worked briefly in Environmental Health Science.  Since then, she has taught at Kennesaw State University, Georgia Military College, as well as Walton High School and Houston County High School in Georgia.  Dr. Knapek currently teaches Honors Chemistry and AP Chemistry at Perry High School and is a member of AACT, GAGC and ACS.  She resides in Perry, Georgia with her husband Ray, daughters Margie and Fraser Faith, as well as her yellow lab Honey and her orange tabby, Hobbes.
