
Bio
Mr. Joe Sendek serves as the Theatre & Performing Arts Director at Perry High School, where he proudly returned as an alumnus of the Class of 1991. With a passion for inspiring creativity, Mr. Sendek is dedicated to introducing students to the transformative power of theatre and guiding them to explore new artistic perspectives.
He holds a Master’s degree in the Education of Theatre and Communicative Arts from the University of Montevallo in Alabama, where he was inducted into the national theatre honor society, Alpha Psi Omega. He also earned his Bachelor’s degree in Acting and Directing from Montevallo, laying the foundation for his continued excellence in performance and education.
Mr. Sendek was recently honored with the Best Director Award from the Southeastern Theatre Conference, one of the nation's most prestigious recognitions in high school theatre.
Outside the classroom and stage, he enjoys traveling with his wife, Mrs. Melissa Sendek, a Spanish teacher at PHS, and their son, Jacob. His interests also include puppetry, playwriting, and studying American Sign Language (ASL).
